The Paulding County Rotary Club welcomed Laurie Ashmore, Director of the Paulding County Water System to the June 11th meeting. Mrs. Ashmore gave a thorough presentation and an update on the status of the Richland Creek Reservoir project.
UGA Extension-Paulding County’s 4-H Agent, Josie Davis visited both the Dallas and Paulding Rotary Clubs with news and information about Paulding 4-H's current programs and upcoming events for Paulding youth.
Truth in Nature is a volunteer program to help young men growing up without a father or in a single-parent environment. Many young men in middle school or high school are growing up in our society without a positive male role model. The strain of being a single parent leaves little time to communicate with and provide that role model which is so desperately needed in these young men's lives.
Paulding County Rotary Club provides special thank you to teachers, staff, and administrators from all 5 Paulding high schools for teacher appreciation day. Rotarians served pastries thanking the teachers for their service as educators in our community. Awards for Membership Growth and Retention. Presented at the Rotary International District 6900 Conference in SanDestin, Florida. President Ford Thigpen, Jr., Past District Governor Roy Strickland, and Paulding County Rotary Membership Chair Justin Fuller.
Mark Caffery member of the Paulding Rotary welcomed guest speaker, Ricky Flores of the FAA, to speak on behalf of the Aviation Career Education Academy program coming to the Paulding County Airport. Mr. Flores spoke highly of the career opportunities available in the aviation industry. He was also very optimistic about the value of these jobs moving forward.
The Paulding County Rotary Club again welcomed Magno Giovanni Gabriel, an exchange student from Brazil who is currently attending West Georgia University. Magno is in the Georgia Rotary student program (GRSP). His Paulding-Rotary host family is Brian and Ashleigh Headrick.
The Paulding Rotary annually recognizes Paulding's First Responders with Public Safety Awards. The Paulding County Sheriff's Department, the Dallas Police Department, the Hiram Police Department, the Paulding County Fire Department and joining us for the first time Paulding Post 29 of the Georgia State patrol were in attendance. These awards are given in sincere appreciation and recognition for the service that these individuals have displayed for Paulding County. As Emergency Response Officers these individuals have been recognized by their superiors for providing service far beyond the requirements of the positions they hold.
