The Invitational Christmas Parade for 2017 was a great success thanks to the participation of our local community, those businesses and individuals who participate, and our co-coordinators. The Rotary Club welcomed Shirley Smith and Vicki Paris from Paulding Christmas along with, Stacy Hamby and Amy Scheid from the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce. Unable to join us, but very much a part of the coordination and production of the parade were Cecelia McMichen, Sgt. Jim Boshell of the Dallas Police Department and Robby Bruce of the Dallas Parks and Recreation Department. This past year marked the 25th anniversary of the Invitational Christmas Parade. “Making a Difference in the community” was the theme of the parade and our Grand Marshal was the late Earl Duncan, a founding member of the Paulding County Rotary Club.
Special thanks to Stacy Hamby and Amy Scheid of the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce for their help in entry judging. Special thanks also to club members Sam Elrod and Jackie Crum for their hard work in coordinating the event. Paulding Rotary Club president John Grant presented a check for $5000 to Vicki Paris and Shirley Smith of Paulding Christmas. As a club, we very much look forward to the next Christmas Parade.
