A big thank you to all of the members who participated in the USO event last week. We had an excellent turnout Tuesday afternoon and assembled 400+ bagged lunches! On Wednesday, several members assisted in passing out lunches to troops returning from holiday leave to Fort Gordon or Fort Benning to complete their training. While Rotary’s shift ran from 10 – 2, the entire program ran from 6 am to midnight, and all together, approx. 10,000 soldiers came through Hartsfield-Jackson. Thank you to the board for continuing to support such a worthy cause.

The Paulding Rotary Club has several long-standing traditions when it comes to providing for the local community. One such tradition is our annual senior cookout, which might possibly be the longest-running annual activity to date. Club members always have a good time grilling the hamburgers and hot dogs for our seniors.

The Rotary Club of Paulding hosted the 11th annual Pigskin Preview on August 9 at the Dallas Civic Center. The Club appreciates the City of Dallas hosting us every year. The Club received an update from the head coaches from each of the five high schools. The coaches each brought three of their star players, all of which excel academically as well as athletically.

Once again, the Golf Tournament had great weather and a great turnout. Can't thank everyone enough for all the time and effort in securing sponsors and volunteering on the day of the tournament. Also, special thanks to Danny Alsobrook and Ford Thigpen for assisting with arranging for additional golf carts to handle a large number of golfers (35 teams!) and coordinating with sponsors and registration.

As sponsors, the Paulding Rotary Club enjoyed serving a hungry crowd of people this year. September's Paulding Meadows is a terrific annual charitable county event.

Every year the Paulding County Rotary Club delivers apples to all elementary schools in Paulding County. 2022 was no exception as the Paulding Rotarians met and loaded up apples to deliver all over the county. Our club members love the opportunity to continue this tradition. A simple gift and an act of recognition can mean a lot to those who serve as educators.

The 30th Annual Invitational Dallas Christmas Parade is presented by the Paulding County Rotary Club, in cooperation with the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Dept. and broadcast by Paulding County's PAlpharetta Ga. This year our Christmas parade was blessed with a little rain. Organizers witnessed a great turnout of residents who attended the parade every year! We thank all residents for making this such a terrific annual event.
